RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that Council adopt a finding of Categorical Exemption and award a construction contract with Next Stage Construction for $350,000 for the Restroom Remodels Project at Frank H. Ball, Highway City, and Mary Ella Brown and authorize the Public Works Director or designee to sign and execute the standardized contract on behalf of the City of Fresno.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Frank H. Ball, Highway City, and Mary Ella Brown are well-attended parks with community centers that host a variety of programs and activities that serve a wide range of the city's demographic population. The proposed restroom remodels will provide greater accessibility and usability while updating the look and function of each restroom.


BACKGROUND

The City of Fresno Parks, After School, Recreation and Community Services (PARCS) Department wishes to remodel the restrooms within the existing community centers at Frank H. Ball, Highway City, and Mary Ella Brown parks. Frank H. Ball and Mary Ella Brown parks are well-attended park in the in the southwest area of the city and Highway City is also a very popular park in the northwest part of the city.
