RECOMMENDATIONS

The Mayor, Councilmember Esparza and the City Manager recommend the Council authorize the City Manager to enter into a grant agreement with Central Valley Children Services Network (CVCSN) to provide childcare services for essential workers and to approve the 1st Amendment to the Annual Appropriations Resolution No. 2020-159 to fund the project.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

After the Administration presented Council with a Coronavirus Relief Fund Strategic Plan on June 11 that included a child care voucher element, the Central Valley Children Services Network submitted a proposal to Councilmember Nelson Esparza. At the Councilmember's request, the Administration reviewed the materials and the Administration and Councilmember Esparza both met with the principals of CVCSN, Brooke Frost and Lupe Jaime, to learn more about their budget and proposal for the proposed project.
