RECOMMENDATIONS

Staff recommends that Council approve an extension of the agreement with The Gordian Group through December 31, 2020; approve an extension of the contract with Puma Construction through December 31, 2020 and, award a construction contract with Puma Construction for $2,418,252.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On August 27, 2015, Council approved an agreement with The Gordian Group, Inc. for the implementation of the Job Order Contracting (JOC) program. This agreement expires on August 27, 2020. On September 28, 2017, Council awarded a JOC contract to Puma Construction. This contract expires on September 28, 2020. In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19, the City wishes to use CARES Act funding to retrofit all faucets, soap dispensers, toilets, urinals, paper towel dispensers and water fountains in City buildings with touchless. With CARES Act funding expiring December 31st, it is necessary to use the JOC program to expedite the retrofits and incur expenses before the December 31st deadline.
