RECOMMENDATIONS

Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the 26th Amendment to the Annual Appropriation Resolution No. 2020-159 appropriating $126,600 for the Trail Network Wayfinding Plan Project.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Staff is preparing to implement the Trail Network Wayfinding Plan Project, which is funded by a State grant and local Measure C Trails funding as the matching source. The project was awarded State funds through the Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant Program administered through the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). On June 25, 2020, Council approved an agreement for professional engineering services with Toole Design Group for the preparation of the Travel by Trail, Fresno! Trail Network Wayfinding Plan. Staff recommends Council adopt the 26th Amendment to the AAR to provide appropriations in the Public Works FY2021 Capital Budget to sufficiently cover anticipated expenditures for the development of this plan.

BACKGROUND

The Travel by Trail, Fresno! Trail Network Wayfinding, Promotion and Connectivity Plan includes development of a Wayfinding Plan for Fresno's trail network. The Department of Public Works submitted the grant application for this project in November 2018. The application was conditionally awarded grant funding in May 2019.
