Body
RECOMMENDATIONS

Staff recommends approval of an agreement with Borrelli and Associates Inc., in the amount of $177,800 plus a contingency of $12,000 for the design and preparation of construction documents for the Municipal Service Center (MSC) Generator Replacement and authorizes the Public Works Director or designee to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City of Fresno.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The MSC was constructed in 1976 in order to house a fleet of service vehicles and administrative staff for various City of Fresno Departments. The generator is long past its life expectancy and needs to be replaced and upgraded. Staff recommends hiring Borrelli and Associates Inc., to develop plans and bid documents for the MSC Generator Replacement project. The project is fully funded with MSC Repair and Replacement capital funding through the adopted City budget.

BACKGROUND

Located at 2101 G Street, the MSC sits on approximately 27.11 acres and has 26 building or canopy structures within it campus. The generator is original to the facility construction and has passed its useful life expectancy. The generator requires substantial maintenance in order to continue its operations, and it is underpowered for the ever-growing power demand of today's operations.
