RECOMMENDATIONS

Staff recommends that City Council award a Consultant Services Agreement to Blair, Church & Flynn Consulting Engineers, in the amount not to exceed $145,158, inclusive of a $10,000 contingency, for the design of sewer rehabilitation improvements in the area bound by Blackstone, Maroa, McKinley, and Clinton Avenues (Project); and authorize the Director of Public Utilities, or designee, to sign the agreement on behalf of the City of Fresno (City).

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Department of Public Utilities, Wastewater Management Division (WWMD), is seeking to award a Consultant Services Agreement to Blair, Church & Flynn Consulting Engineers for the Project. The Project will rehabilitate approximately 9,087 linear feet of existing 6-inch and 8-inch diameter sewer mains and access structures deteriorated by hydrogen sulfide gas that were identified in the 2015 Wastewater Collection System Master Plan (Plan).

BACKGROUND

The WWMD maintains approximately 1,560 miles of sewer collections and conveyance pipes and 25,580 access structures. To ensure the reliability of this extensive pipe network, the WWMD conducts annual rehabilitations projects.
