RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that Council adopt the 25th amendment to AAR No. 2021-178 appropriating $110,000 for the Transformative Climate Communities grant projects.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On February 28, 2019, the City Council unanimously voted to approve a Master Grant Agreement (MGA) with the Strategic Growth Council (SGC) for the TCC grant award. All Partner agreements have been executed and projects are underway as a part of Transform Fresno. Additional funding appropriations for the Workforce Development Plan Administration project is needed to complete the full allocation of TCC grant funding. This project will consist of workforce needs assessment, analysis of workforce opportunities and development of a strategic action plan per grant requirements. Funding will also purchase workforce development software to aid in the data collection and track progress.

BACKGROUND

The Transform Fresno Plan was created by a participatory steering committee comprised of community stakeholders from the Chinatown, Downtown and Southwest Fresno neighborhoods. All projects were approved by this committee prior to submitting the grant application to SGC.
