***RESOLUTION - Adopt the Fourteenth Amendment to FY 2022 Salary Resolution No. 2021-176, amending Exhibit 13-1, Unit 13, Exempt Supervisory and Professional (CFPEA) to modify the salary ranges for Professional Engineer, Supervising Professional Engineer, Chief Surveyor, and Architect, effective February 14, 2022 (Subject to Mayor's Veto).

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that Council approve the Fourteenth Amendment to the FY22 Salary Resolution No. 2021-176 effective February 14, 2022, to:
* Modify salary ranges for Professional Engineer, Supervising Professional Engineer, Chief Surveyor and Architect in Exhibit 13-1, Unit 13, Exempt Supervisory and Professional (CFPEA).
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In collaboration with the respective departments, Personnel Services has revised four salary ranges within Unit 13-1 to gain a competitive salary position for these certificated, hard to fill classifications.
This action will not require an increase in total positions in the Public Works, Public Utilities or Planning and Development Departments.
To implement these actions, it is necessary to approve the Fourteenth Amendment to FY 2022 Salary Resolution No. 2021-176.
BACKGROUND
The salary range for the following classifications are being revised: Professional Engineer, Supervising Professional Engineer, Chief Surveyor and Architect. All four classifications require valid registration either as a professional engineer, land surveyor, or architect by the State of California, and are considered hard to fill and take significant recruiting efforts to attract qualified candidates. These classifications are critical in supporting and administering various capital and engineering projects throughout the City and it is imperative that the salaries be competitively aligned.
