RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends Council approve an agreement with Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group in the amount of $66,000 plus a contingency of $9,000 for the design and preparation of construction documents for the Historic Water Tower Site ADA Upgrades Project and authorizes the Public Works Director or designee to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City of Fresno.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On January 27, 2022, Council approved a lease agreement with Frida Caf? to lease the Historic Water Tower. The City has identified areas surrounding the Water Tower do not meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. This agreement will provide the design and construction documents which will allow the City to meet these requirements.

BACKGROUND

The Water Tower is a historic building at that was constructed in 1894.The non-historic courtyard area around the tower was reconstructed in the late 1990's and certain areas do not meet current ADA requirements. As part of this project Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group will provide design construction documents to address the ADA deficiencies as well as reconfigure the parking area. These improvements will provide improved access to/from the parking area, public sidewalk, restrooms, and tower building, as well as the patio seating.
