Body
RECOMMENDATIONS

Staff recommends approval of an agreement with Integrated Designs by SOMAM, Inc., in the amount of $87,000 plus a contingency of $12,000 for the design and preparation of construction documents for the Maxie L. Parks Community Center HVAC Upgrade Project and authorizes the Public Works Director or designee to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City of Fresno.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Maxie L. Parks Community Center is located on the southeast corner of Elm Avenue and California Avenue. The Community Center Gymnasium and Recreation areas currently have an evaporative swamp cooler system that does not sufficiently cool the Gymnasium and Recreation area in the hot summer seasons. Replacing the existing system with an upgraded split-system will be more efficient and provide greater cooling that allows for more community uses in the Gymnasium and Recreation area once the project is completed. Staff recommends hiring Integrated Designs by SOMAM, Inc. to develop plans and construction documents for the Maxie L. Parks Community Center HVAC Upgrade Project.
