Title

***RESOLUTION - Adopting the 572nd Amendment to the Master Fee Schedule Resolution No. 80-420 to add various fees for the Tower Theatre in the General Government Section (Subject to Mayor’s Veto).

Body

RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that City Council adopt the 572nd Amendment to the Master Fee Schedule Resolution No. 80-420 to establish non-commercial and non-profit daily rates (fees) for use of the Tower Theatre.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The attached Resolution to adopt the 572nd Amendment to the Master Fee Schedule (MFS) Resolution No. 80-420 addresses the establishment of the new non-commercial and non-profit Tower Theatre fees.

BACKGROUND

The purchase of the historic Tower Theatre (Theatre) by the City of Fresno (City) was finalized with the close of escrow on Friday, July 22, 2022. The City is currently in the process of conducting a thorough safety inspection of the Theatre, which is targeted to be completed by August 21, 2022 with possible repairs identified.

The City will also provide information on how to reserve the Theatre under a City reservation policy and through the City’s operator once the anticipated timing to complete possible repairs have been determined.

At this time, the City seeks to formalize a fee structure for use of the Theatre through the City’s MFS.

ENVIRONMENTAL FINDINGS

This is not a project pursuant to CEQA guidelines Section 15378.

LOCAL PREFERENCE

Local preference was not implemented as this amendment to the MFS does not include a bid or award of a construction or service contract.

FISCAL IMPACT

The proposed new fees are estimated to generate approximately $18,500 per month, or $220,000 annually.
