RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council approve an agreement for professional engineering services with Peters Engineering Group for $216,260, with a $10,000 contingency, for design and construction support services for the Highway City Street Improvement Project and authorize the Public Works Director or designee to execute the agreement on behalf of the City of Fresno.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Highway City Street Improvement Project includes street improvements for Lola Avenue, Fairmont Avenue, State Street and Barcus Avenue, such as curb and gutter, pavement reconstruction, sidewalks, curb ramps, street lighting and storm drain facilities. The project will also include right-of-way acquisition of property frontages for the proposed street improvements. The subject consultant agreement, in the amount of $216,260, with a $10,000 contingency, will facilitate the design and construction support services necessary to complete the project.

The project design and right-of-way phases are funded with Federal funds through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), administered through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
