EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

 

The Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District (FMFCD) is governed by a seven-member board.  Pursuant to Section 73-5 of the Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control Act (Act), the legislative body of the City of Fresno shall appoint four members to the FMFCD Board, none of whom shall be public officials of the city.

 

BACKGROUND

 

The FMFCD is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors. Pursuant to Section 73-5 of the Act, the legislative body of the City of Fresno shall make appointments to the FMFCD Board, none of whom shall be public officials of the city. The City of Fresno appoints four members, the Fresno County Board of Supervisors appoints two members, and the Clovis City Council appoints one member.

Each director serves a four-year term and may be reappointed for consecutive terms. All members of the FMFCD Board shall reside within the District. Pursuant to Section 73-6 of the Act, directors for whom the term of office has expired shall continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors until the respective appointing body shall reappoint that director to a new term of office or shall appoint a new director.

 

Kacey Auston has previously served three terms on the Board.
