SUBJECT

Title

Accept three cutaway vehicles from the City of Clovis appraised at $81,396.67

Body

RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends Council accept three cutaway vehicles donated by the City of Clovis appraised at a total value of $81,396.67

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The City of Clovis donated three cutaway vehicles to the City of Fresno.  Per Fresno Municipal Code Section 7-105, Council approval is required because the donation exceeds a total value of $25,000. Council is requested to accept the three vehicles, appraised at a total value of $81,396.67 for incorporation into the Handy Ride vehicle fleet.

BACKGROUND

The City of Clovis donated three cutaway vehicles to the City of Fresno. The vehicles include one 2005 Chevrolet 20-passenger Glaval Transit Bus and two 2008 GMC 20-passenger Glaval Transit buses.  Upon receipt of the cutaways, FAX ordered an appraisal of each vehicle.  Appraisals averaged approximately $27,000 for each vehicle. Because the donation exceeds a total value of $25,000, Council approval is required.

ENVIRONMENTAL FINDING

Pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378, this is not a “project” for purposes of CEQA.

LOCAL PREFERENCE

The Local Preference Ordinance does not apply because this project does not include a vehicle procurement process or bid or award of a construction process or service contract.

FISCAL IMPACT

There is no impact to the FY20 General Fund from this action. Maintenance costs will be absorbed by FAX federal operating dollars.
