RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that City Council adopt a finding of Class 1 categorical exemption, pursuant to Section 15301 (d) (Existing facilities) and Class 2 categorical exemption, pursuant to Section 15302 (c) (Replacement or reconstruction) of the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") Guidelines for Manhole Rehabilitation on West Avenue from Dakota Avenue to McKinley Avenue and award a construction contract in the amount of $194,250 to Bill Nelson, Inc., of Fresno, California for Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation on West Avenue.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Rehabilitation of the City's manholes is essential in maintaining a functioning infrastructure. The Department of Public Utilities, Wastewater Management Division ("WMD") is seeking to award a construction contract to rehabilitate 15 manholes on West Avenue from Dakota Avenue to McKinley Avenue. The manhole rehabilitation will consist of replacing the frame and cover, coating the manhole, and adding nine drop bowls.
