RECOMMENDATIONS

Staff recommends that the City Council approves the attached one year contract with Fresno Unified School District (FUSD) for $500,000 and approve the 15th amendment to the Annual Appropriation Resolution No. 2015-104 to appropriate $83,500 to conduct the Sports Play Active Recreation for Kids (SPARK) program. The contract funds will enable PARCS to operate an elementary school based fitness and nutrition program at 29 Fresno Unified School District elementary school sites. The contract resources will go towards funding the day to day operation of the SPARK Program during Academic Year 2015/2016.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

PARCS will be providing programming content in the areas of physical fitness and nutrition for the academic school year of 2015/2016. FUSD and PARCS are partners in the after school recreation program and are providing activities for elementary school children. The attached contract was created by FUSD for consideration and approval by both the FUSD School Board and the City Council. The contractual agreement would establish a one-year commitment at $500,000 for services from FUSD.
