Actions pertaining to the Shaw Avenue overlay eastbound from Blythe Avenue to Brawley Avenue - Bid File No. 3521 (Council Districts 1 and 2)
1. Adopt a finding of Categorical Exemption per staff determination, pursuant to Section 15301(c) Class 1 of the California Environmental Quality Act guidelines for the Shaw Avenue overlay eastbound from Blythe Avenue to Brawley Avenue
2. Award a construction contract for $249,144 to Agee Construction Corporation of Clovis, California for the Shaw Avenue overlay eastbound from Blythe Avenue to Brawley Avenue

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a finding of Categorical Exemption pursuant to Section 15301(c) Class 1 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines, award a construction contract with Agee Construction Corporation of Clovis, California (Agee) for $249,144 as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder and authorize the Public Works Director or designee to sign the construction contract on behalf of the City of Fresno.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The eastbound travel lanes of Shaw Avenue from Blythe Avenue to Brawley Avenue are in a state of disrepair. The proposed asphalt overlay will correct the existing deteriorated pavement condition and increase the life of the pavement while providing a smooth riding surface for motorists. The project will also upgrade the curb ramps to current standards within the project limits.
