RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends approval of an agreement for Professional Engineering Services with Peters Engineering Group for $128,733 plus $15,000 for contingencies, for the design, bidding and construction support phases of the Friant Road Overlay - Champlain Drive to Shepherd Avenue ($49,275 plus $7,500 contingencies) and the Ashlan Avenue Overlay - Valentine Avenue to West Avenue ($79,458 plus $7,500 contingencies), and to allow the Public Works Director, or designee, to sign the agreement on the City's behalf.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

To extend the life of the existing major streets through street surface restoration, the City of Fresno applied for Regional Surface Transportation Program (RSTP) funds to fund professional engineering design, bidding and construction support services for the Friant Road Overlay - Champlain Drive to Shepherd Avenue and Ashlan Avenue Overlay - Valentine Avenue to West Avenue.

BACKGROUND
