RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that Council adopt a finding of Categorical Exemption and award a construction contract with JT2, Inc., dba: Todd Companies for $457,000 for the Mosqueda Park Splash Play Area project and authorize the Public Works Director or designee to sign and execute the standardized contract on behalf of the City of Fresno.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Mosqueda Park is a well-attended park and the proposed splash play area will be a welcome addition for families and community members. The Mosqueda Park Splash Play Area project was included in the FY17 budget as adopted by the Council, utilizing Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.

BACKGROUND

The City of Fresno Parks, After School, Recreation and Community Services (PARCS) Department wishes to build a splash pad within the existing Mosqueda Park. Mosqueda Park is a well-attended park and the proposed splash pad will be a welcome addition to provide the surrounding neighborhood children relief from the summer heat, while providing family fun in a safe location.
