RECOMMENDATIONS

Staff recommends that Council authorize the Interim Director of Transportation to execute the Second Amendment to the engineering and design services agreement with Provost and Pritchard Engineering Group, Inc., for additional services resulting from the extended project schedule for the Courthouse Park Transit Center Improvement project, in the amount of $3,938.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Department of Transportation, in conjunction with Public Works, began work on the Courthouse Park Transit Center Improvement project in March 2014. The project includes the replacement of the FAX transit shelters, replacement of aging infrastructure as well as improving related amenities and lighting at the three major transfer centers located within Courthouse Park in downtown Fresno. It is anticipated that the project will be completed in October of this year.
Due to delays during associated with the need to integrate this project with FAX's BRT project, the overall schedule has been extended by several months. The extended services required during this period were unable to be absorbed in the Consultant's budget. Therefore, the recommended amendment to the agreement will increase the professional engineering design services to compensate for an extended project schedule in the amount of $3,938.
