RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that City Council approve the attached Cooperative Purchase Agreement in the amount of $112,960.00 per year for a four year period with Cal/Amp Radio Satellite Integrators, Inc., in conjunction with the National Joint Powers Alliance Agreement (NJPA) for air time and maintenance of global positioning system/automated vehicle location (GPS/AVL) equipment in City vehicles for the Water, Wastewater Management and Code Enforcement Divisions; and authorize the City Manager, or designee, to sign agreement on behalf of the City.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Since 2007, the Department of Public Utilities and the Development and Resource Management Department, Code Enforcement Division, have been utilizing GPS/AVL equipment in City vehicles to track the vehicle locations allowing improved dispatch operations, quicker response time, route planning, and elimination of duplicate call-outs. The existing contract with Cal/Amp Radio Satellite Integrators expired on April 29, 2018.

The attached Cooperative Purchasing Agreement allows the City to piggyback onto the NJPA Contract, to establish pricing for air time and maintenance of GPS/AVL equipment in City vehicles.
The Cooperative Purchase Agreement was originally approved by Council on March 1, 2018; however, the existing NJPA base agreement was inadvertently not included as an exhibit and made a part of the Cooperative Purchase Agreement. The entire agreement is ...
