Actions pertaining to the Clinton Avenue overlay from Blackstone Avenue to Maroa Avenue - Bid File No. 3556 (Council Districts 1 and 7)
1. Adopt a finding of Categorical Exemption per staff determination, pursuant to Section 15301(c) Class 1 of the California Environmental Quality Act guidelines for the Clinton Avenue overlay from Blackstone Avenue to Maroa Avenue.
2. Award a construction contract in the amount of $364,331.05 to Dave Christian Construction Inc., of Fresno, California for the Clinton Avenue overlay from Blackstone Avenue to Maroa Avenue.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a finding of Categorical Exemption pursuant to Section 15301(c) Class 1 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines, award a construction contract with Dave Christian Construction Inc. of Fresno, California in the amount of $365,331.05 as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder and authorize the Public Works Director or designee to sign the construction contract on behalf of the City of Fresno.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City of Fresno seeks to resurface Clinton Avenue from Blackstone Avenue to Maroa Avenue. The scope of work includes an asphalt pavement grind and overlay, striping and pavement markings, replacement of traffic loop detectors, minor concrete improvements and modifications of curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance. Awarding a construction contract for this overlay project will increase the lifespan of the roadway and maintain the road's level of service.
